About

Mostly Baroque (formerly the Mostly Baroque Players)  was founded by violinist and conductor Dr. David O. Hartman in South Florida in 1997.   The ensemble was from its earliest days dedicated to  historically informed performance of the music of Bach, Handel and Vivaldi among other Baroque composers.  Beginning with an ensemble of three chamber musicians, Mostly Baroque has mounted performances of both Symphonies and Operas with over 40 performers in locales as diverse as South Florida, Connecticut, New York City, England, Scotland and the Bahamas.

Mostly Baroque performs on both period and modern instruments, depending on the repertory and circumstances of the performance.
