Yi-Chun Sarah Tsai

Born in Taiwan, Yi-Chun Sarah Tsai started her musical education at  the age of four, playing piano and singing in her school choir. Her musical talent soon became obvious, and so she was enrolled in the best music schools in Taiwan, including The Music School in Stella Matutina Girl’s High School and National Taiwan Normal University. In 2019, she was accepted to the College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) at University of Cincinnati with a Graduate Incentive Award. Studying with Karen Lykes, she received her Master degree in Vocal Performance in 2021.    From Taiwan to Japan, to the United States, Tsai has had plenty of performance experience in both opera and as a concert soloist. At CCM, she sang the role of Meg in Verdi’s Falstaff and was a member of the chorus in Smetana’s Bartered Bride. In Taiwan, she had her debut performance as the title role, Hänsel, from Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel with The Sun Taipei Phil, conducted by Ai-Kuang Sun, one of the leading conductors in Taiwan. She also sang the roles Carmen, Cherubino, Romeo, Rosina, Suzuki, Norina, and Dorabella, in opera scenes concerts in her undergrad. She has also had the chance to sing as a soloist in Tabernacle Women’s Choir in several performances, including a tour in Tokyo Japan.
